(LTAS) Tax Preparation Process
Welcome to Litherland Tax & Accounting Services (LTAS)!
Here's a step-by-step guide to our tax preparation process for both new and returning clients.
1. Schedule an Appointment
Book your initial consultation through our website. Click Here.
2. New Clients
After booking your appointment, you'll receive an email invitation to join our client portal. Set up your account with a username and password. If you file jointly, please provide your spouse's full name and a separate email address.
3. Accessing the Client Portal
Log in to the client portal on our website by clicking "Client Portal" or download the Tax Dome Client Portal app for easy access from your phone. If you prefer not to use the app, you can still access the portal through our website.
4. Explore the Client Portal
Inside the portal, you'll find resources like the Tax Preparation Checklist (Deductions & Credits), the Smart Organizer, and our engagement letter. Please note that we won't start work until you've signed the engagement letter and completed the organizer. New clients should also upload the last two tax returns they've filed.
5. Using the Smart Organizer
The Smart Organizer adapts to your responses. If you're married, it'll ask about your spouse; if you're single, it won't. Your answers are automatically saved, so you can complete the organizer at your own pace. Completing the organizer online allows you to save your information for next year, speeding up the process.
6. Uploading Tax Documents
You can upload all necessary tax documents via the client portal, either from your computer or your phone. If using the mobile app, you can scan documents to create high-quality PDFs.
We recommend avoiding images or pictures for clarity. New clients should remember to upload their last two tax returns as part of this process.
7. Submitting Your Organizer
Once you've completed the organizer, click 'submit' to notify our team that you're ready for us to start your tax return. If you have questions at any time, use the "Chat" feature in the portal, and we'll respond promptly.
8. Preparing Your Tax Return
After you submit your organizer, our team will start preparing your tax return. If we need additional information, we'll contact you through the portal's chat feature. You can expect regular updates on your return's status.
9. Reviewing and E-Signing Your Tax Return
Once your tax return is ready, we'll upload it to the portal for you to review and e-sign. After we receive your signature and payment for our services, we will proceed to e-file your return.
If you'd like to review and e-sign your return in person, please schedule an appointment via our website or by
You can also ask us to explain any parts of the tax return that you don't understand.
